As if they planned it in time for the season! Our summer is ending, and some of Hollywood’s stars are FALLing! Falling in to jail, rehab, the unemployment line,etc – but falling none the less!
But before you take the air out of your arm floaties, let’s re-live some of the hotness the summer sun & celebs burned us with!
Lindsay Lohan! I mean need I say more? Everyone’s favorite hot mess did not disappoint this summer! With a laundry list of excuses as to why she violated her probation, missed court dates, and couldn’t find her passport, Lillo’s judge didn’t buy her terrible acting in court and sentenced her to 90 days in the clinker followed by rehab for a believed addiction to prescription drugs. In true Hollywood style though, she ended up serving 13 days in jail (released early due to over-crowding) and about the same in rehab since she wasn’t believed to have an addiction…even though it was her 4th time in rehab.
Lindsay is currently working with Britney Spears’ former manager Larry Randolf (who was credited to “Britney’s Comeback”) and rumored to want to have a child! Sweet baby Jesus say it isn’t so! But Linz was quickly turned in to tabloid chopped liver when hotter mess Paris Hilton was busted once again with illegal narcotics!
Paris was partying in Vegas with her boyfriend Cy Waits, and a few others, when cops pulled over the car they were in and smelled Marijuana. Everyone in the car was taken in, and cops found .8 grams of cocaine in Paris’ purse, which she claims she thought was gum. Really? You snort gum? Weird. She too had a laundry list of reasons as to how she wound up with it including it wasn’t her purse (even though she tweeted a pic of it days before). Since this is the 3rd time she’s been busted with drugs this year, she is looking at jail time, and the possibility of having a coffee table book made with her mug shots alone.
If you’ve been spending your summer with more ‘scripted’ drama, then there’s a good chance that HBO’s True Blood and Entourage have you glued to your couches!
While both shows have had record breaking ratings, their season finales will take place on Sunday, September 12th and return NEXT summer! I KNOW! For Entourage fans, execs have confirmed this last season will be their last, and rumors of a movie are not being confirmed yet.
The shows returning to get us by definitely offer a little something for everyone: Glee premieres September 21st, (dedicating episodes this season to Britney Spears & the Rocky Horror Picture Show) CSI on September 23rd, (with the season opener guest star Justin Bieber whose storyline will arc later in the season) and Desperate Housewives on September 26 with new regular Vanessa Williams.
Dancing with the Stars is also returning to ABC with the most colorful cast the show has seen in a while: David Hasselhoff, Florence Henderson, Jersey Shore’s “The Situation”, Jennifer Grey, Margaret Cho and Bristol Palin just to name a few. I’m laughing ALREADY and I haven’t even seen any of them dance yet! Even more reason to watch – it’s LIVE so who knows what will go down! The show premieres on September 20th.
Another live mess/show that is returning, but is MISSING the cast, is American Idol!
While auditions have started, the only for sure judge is Randy Jackson! While Ellen DeGeneres and Simon Cowell left on their own, Kara DioGuardi was given her walking papers! Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler says he’s been signed (FOX will not confirm) and while Jennifer Lopez was rumored to round out the 3, word is she was cut loose because of her outrageous demands. (Don’t you have to know how to sing too?!) Sources say that FOX is desperate to have her, and ‘trying’ to find a compromise. New Idol episodes will air in January 2011, hopefully with 3 judges.
And last but not least – the summer wouldn’t be complete without the MTV VMA’s going down, Sunday, September 12th on MTV with Chelsea Handler serving as host (and according to her hopefully sleeping with some of the rappers at the show too)
Set to perform are: Eminem, Drake, B.O.B, Justin Bieber, Usher and Kanye West – who hopefully learned his lesson and will stay in his seat this year! I say give Chelsea (and Taylor Swift) a taser just in case!
Plus, if you should miss it, and the million times it’s replayed, the following day (Monday, September 13th) Ellen DeGeneres will have her show season opener (The Ellen Show) with most of the notable VMA leftovers like: Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake and Chelsea Handler! What a way to get things started!
